Gynadom 200 MG Description

Gynadom Tablet contains a medicine called danazol as the active substance. It is used to treat endometriosis – an illness where some of the tissues that line the womb are found elsewhere in the body.

Gynadom Tablet is also used for the treatment of breast cysts (lumps) which may be painful but not malignant. It works by changing the way some hormones act in your body. Gynadom Tablet is used where other treatments have not worked or when they cannot be taken. Take this medicine in the exact dose and duration as prescribed by your doctor. Do not stop taking this medicine on your own. Before starting Gynadom Tablet, inform your doctor if you are pregnant/breastfeeding and about your complete medical history.

Uses of Gynadom 200 MG

Gynadom Tablet is used for the treatment of endometriosis – an illness where some of the tissues that line the womb are found elsewhere in the body.
It is also used to treat breast cysts (lumps) which may be painful, but not malignant.

Contraindications of Gynadom 200 MG

If you are allergic to danazol or any of the other ingredients of Gynadom Tablet.
If you are taking a cholesterol-lowering medicine called simvastatin. If you are not sure what this medicine is, please confirm with your doctor.
If you have a rare inherited illness called porphyria that affects your metabolism.
If you are pregnant, might become pregnant or think you may be pregnant.
If you are breastfeeding.
If you have kidney, liver or heart disease.
If you ever had blood clots (thrombosis).
If you have a type of cancer that is affected by hormones.
If you have unusual vaginal bleeding which has not been checked by a doctor.

Pregnancy

Can I take Gynadom 200mg Tablets during pregnancy?

Gynadom Tablet is contraindicated for use in pregnancy. Women capable of becoming pregnant should be advised to use an effective, non-hormonal method of birth control. If you become pregnant during treatment, this medicine should be immediately stopped.

Breast Feeding

Can I take Gynadom 200mg Tablets while breastfeeding?

Gynadom Tablet is contraindicated for use in breastfeeding women.

Driving

Can I drive if I have consumed Gynadom 200mg Tablets?

Gynadom Tablet has no effect on the driving ability. However, if you experience any effects after taking this medicine that may affect your ability to drive safely, it is advised to avoid driving.

Alcohol

Can I consume alcohol with Gynadom 200mg Tablets?

No, alcohol should not be consumed while you are taking Gynadom Tablet because drinking alcohol while taking this medicine can make you feel sick or short of breath.

Take Gynadom Tablet as a whole with sufficient water.
Always take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
Do not cut, break or chew the medicine.
Do not consume more than the prescribed dose.
Do not stop taking this medicine on your own.

Interactions with other medicines

Some medicines can affect the way Gynadom Tablet works or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
Inform your doctor about all the medicines, supplements or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction.
Particular care should be taken if you are taking medicines like steroids such as testosterone, estrogen, progesterone (including hormone replacement therapy/HRT) and statins such as simvastatin.
