Description
Eldoper is a medication used to treat acute diarrhoea, which can be caused by food poisoning or viral infections. The active ingredient is loperamide. It works by slowing down the movement of your intestines, which helps your body absorb more water and salts. This reduces the frequency of your bowel movements and helps relieve the urge to go to the bathroom. Eldoper also helps to strengthen the natural control valve of the anus, giving you better control over your bowel movements.
You should take Eldoper as a whole with a sufficient amount of water, exactly as your doctor has prescribed. Do not exceed the recommended dose, and it should not be used for more than five consecutive days. Eldoper capsule is used in the treatment of acute diarrhoea due to food poisoning or viral infections.
Contraindications
- If you are allergic to loperamide or any other ingredient of Eldoper capsule.
- If you already suffer from constipation or develop it during treatment with the medicine.
- If there is unexplained swelling of the stomach.
- If you suffer from diarrhoea with blood in stools or have a high fever.
- If you have a known case of or appear to have symptoms of ulcerative colitis (like stomach pain or cramps, weight loss, fatigue), a chronic gut disease.
- If you suffer from diarrhoea due to infection caused by bacteria like salmonella, shigella, or campylobacter or due to the use of antibiotics such as amoxicillin or ampicillin.
