Eldoper Capsule
Description
Eldoper is a medication used to treat acute diarrhoea, which can be caused by food poisoning or viral infections. The active ingredient is loperamide. It works by slowing down the movement of your intestines, which helps your body absorb more water and salts. This reduces the frequency of your bowel movements and helps relieve the urge to go to the bathroom. Eldoper also helps to strengthen the natural control valve of the anus, giving you better control over your bowel movements.
You should take Eldoper as a whole with a sufficient amount of water, exactly as your doctor has prescribed. Do not exceed the recommended dose, and it should not be used for more than five consecutive days. If you still have diarrhoea after five days, you should consult your doctor to find out if there's another underlying cause. Eldoper should not be used if you have diarrhoea with blood in your stools, a high fever, or if your diarrhoea is caused by a bacterial infection.
While taking Eldoper, you may experience some side effects such as headache, dizziness, nausea, flatulence, or constipation. These symptoms are usually mild and often go away on their own. Eldoper can cause dizziness or drowsiness; be cautious when driving or operating machinery. If you have any pre-existing medical conditions, such as liver or heart disease, or if you have AIDS, it's crucial to inform your doctor before starting this medication.
If you are pregnant or think you might be, or if you are breastfeeding, you should consult your doctor before taking this medicine. They can help you determine if the benefits outweigh any potential risks. Remember to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids.
Roko capsule, Imodium capsule, Lopamide tablet, Lomofen Plus tablet and Andial tablet are some other medications containing loperamide as an active ingredient.
