Description

Divakon 500mg tablet is used to treat epilepsy, seizures, and migraine. The medication effectively helps in controlling seizures and epilepsy attacks. Common side effects include headache, dizziness,

blurred vision, weakness, nausea, and vomiting. Do not take more than the prescribed dose within 24 hours, as it may increase the risk of overdose. If you observe any overdose symptoms like respiratory depression or loss of consciousness, contact your doctor immediately or rush to the nearest hospital. Store in a cool and dry place at a temperature below 25°C. Do not flush the expired or unused tablets or throw them in household waste. Instead, talk to your pharmacist about safe ways of discarding the medication.

Interactions with other medicines

Drugs like phenytoin, carbamazepine, and phenobarbital increase the clearance of valproic acid
Aspirin, when used with valproic acid, can reduce the metabolism of valproic acid
Carbapenem antibiotics significantly reduce the concentrations of valproic acid
Cholestyramine, when administered with valproic acid, can decrease the plasma levels of valproic acid
Felbamate can increase the concentration of valproic acid
Rifampin can increase the plasma concentration of valproic acid
The level of carbamazepine can be decreased when administered with valproic acid
Plasma concentration of clonazepam can be decreased when used along with valproic acid
The levels of lamotrigine can be reduced in the body when used with valproic acid
Valproic acid displaces the phenytoin plasma albumin binding capacity and decreases the metabolism
