• If you are allergic to Rabeprazole or Domperidone or any of the ingredients of Razo-D capsule.
• If you are suffering from any liver or kidney problems.
• If you have serious heart problems like heart failure, heart rhythm problems, or electrolyte imbalance.
• If you are taking any medicine that might affect the contraction of the heart muscle (QT prolongation).
• If you are suffering from bleeding in your digestive system.
• If you have any tumour of the pituitary gland (Prolactin pituitary tumours).
• If you are pregnant, think you may be or are breastfeeding.

Other General Warnings

• You have problems with your liver and kidney.
• You have heart problems and experience symptoms like palpitations, difficulty in breathing, unconsciousness.
• You develop watery diarrhoea, fever after taking Razo-D capsules.
• You notice black or dark stools.
• You have a stomach tumour.
• You have a history of fractures or have osteoporosis or taking steroids.
• You are taking medicines to treat HIV infection like ritonavir.
• You develop skin lesions especially in the sun-exposed area after taking this capsule.
• You have low levels of vitamin B12. This capsule is known to reduce the absorption of vitamin B12 after long term use. Supplements may be needed.
• You are on Razo-D capsule for more than three months. Your blood magnesium levels may drop. Your doctor may perform regular tests for the same.
• Taking Razo-D capsules for more than one year may increase the chances of developing bone fractures.
• Razo-D capsules are not recommended for use in children of 12 years and below.

• Razo-D capsules are used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). GERD occurs when stomach acid or food goes back into the food pipe. Do not take this medicine for any other condition than that specified by your doctor.
• This medicine should preferably be taken before meals for optimum effectiveness.
• Take this medicine in the exact dose and duration as recommended. Do not take more than the prescribed dose.
• Before starting Razo-D capsules, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning on becoming pregnant or breastfeeding. Also, inform your doctor about all other medicines that you take and your complete medical history.
• Headache, dizziness, diarrhoea, nausea and vomiting may occur in some individuals with this medicine. Inform your doctor if these effects bother you or do not go away.
• It is also advised to limit alcohol intake and quit smoking for better treatment of your acid reflux.
• If you experience sleepiness after taking Razo-D capsules, it is recommended to avoid driving, operating heavy machinery or performing any such tasks that require mental alertness.
• You can make certain lifestyle modifications like preventing excess intake of foods that cause acidity, like carbonated drinks and oily/fried food, regular exercise and maintaining a healthy weight.

How Does It Work?

• Rabeprazole belongs to the class of medicines called proton pump inhibitors. The lining of the stomach secretes acid by certain processes that involve the intake of ions via a proton pump in the cells. Rabeprazole reduces the intake of the ions in the stomach cells that are necessary for the production of digestive acids in the stomach and hence leads to reduced acid production.
• Domperidone increases the motility of the stomach and intestines so that acid does not reflux back into the food pipe.

Interactions with other medicines

• There is limited information available on the interaction of Razo-D capsule with other medicines. However, as this capsule contains Omeprazole and Domperidone, any interactions seen with these two components when taken alone may occur with this combination.
• Avoid using Razo-D capsule along with medicines like Disopyramide, Amiodarone, medicines used for psychiatric problems haloperidol, Citalopram, antibiotics like Erythromycin, Levofloxacin, Azithromycin, antifungals like Pentamidine, Ketoconazole and other medicines like Cisapride, Dolasetron, Mequitazine, Rilpivirine, etc.
• Razo-D capsule interferes with the action of antiviral medicines like Rilpivirine, Atazanavir and Nelfinavir and antifungals like Posaconazole, Ketoconazole and Itraconazole and thus should be used with caution.
• Medicine used to treat heart failure like digoxin may lead to toxicity when taken with Razo-D capsules.
• Medicines used for your mental health like Diazepam, Phenytoin should also be used with caution.
• If you are taking Warfarin, caution is needed as there are chances of increased bleeding when taken along with Razo-D capsules.
