Uses
Aeknil Injection is used for short term treatment of pain especially post operative pain and fever when oral adminstration is not possible.
Contraindications
- If you are allergic to paracetamol or any ingredients of Aeknil Injection.
- If you have serious liver disease or dysfunction.

Breast Feeding

Driving

Mode of Action
How Does It Work?
There are some chemicals in the body called prostaglandins. These are substances that cause pain, swelling, fever. Aeknil Injection contains paracetamol which blocks the production of these prostaglandins, thus temporarily controlling fever or pain. It acts on the area of the brain which is responsible for controlling temperature. Thus, it controls the fever....
Directions for Use
Aeknil Injection will be given in hospital by your doctor or nurse as an injection. This is not meant for self administration.
Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Some medicines can affect the way Aeknil Injection works, or Aeknil itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
- Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements, or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction.
- Especially if you are taking other pain killers, blood thinners and medicine for the treatment of gout.

- Store this medicine below 25°C.
- Protect it from direct sunlight.
- Keep it out of the reach of children.
Dosage
Overdose
Your doctor or nurse will give this injection so it is unlikely that you overdose on this medicine. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite and stomach ache.
