Adaclin 1% Tube Of 20gm Gel Description

Adaclin Gel helps in reducing acne, whiteheads and blackheads. It contains clindamycin and nicotinamide as its active ingredients. Nicotinamide or Niacin is a form of vitamin B3 and Clindamycin is an

antibiotic. It is meant only for external application and should be applied exactly as recommended by your doctor. Excessive use of makeup and other products on your skin should be avoided while using Adaclin Gel. Do not pop acne as it may lead to bacteria & pus spreading on the skin that can lead to the spread of acne and acne scar. You may experience a few side effects of this Gel such as skin dryness, itching and burning sensation. Please report to your doctor if you notice the side effects persist or worsen.

If you are allergic to clindamycin, nicotinamide or any other components of Adaclin Gel.
If you have a history of inflammatory bowel disease
If you have experienced diarrhoea after consuming antibiotics

Pregnancy

Can I use Adaclin Gel during pregnancy?

Adaclin Gel is for topical use, and the quantities which might get absorbed from the skin is too little. The chances of any effect on pregnancy are rare. However, this gel should be used only under medical supervision. In case you are prescribed with this gel, avoid using in larger skin areas for a prolonged duration.

Breast Feeding

Can I use Adaclin Gel while breastfeeding?

Consult your doctor before using Adaclin Gel while breastfeeding. If prescribed, it should not be applied on the breast or areas near the breast in the case of breastfeeding mothers as there can be chances of ingestion of this gel by a breastfed infant. Avoid using it on large areas of skin or for a prolonged period.

Driving

Can I drive after applying Adaclin Gel?

There is limited information about the effects of Adaclin Gel on driving, but as it is a topical preparation, it may not affect the driving ability or ability to handle machinery.

Alcohol

Can I consume alcohol with Adaclin Gel?

There is no direct interaction between Adaclin Gel and alcohol. However, alcohol is known to worsen the skin infection and inflammation. It's better to avoid consuming alcohol when you are prescribed with this ointment.
