- Talk to your doctor if:
- You have a known allergy to zolpidem or other active ingredients in it.
- You have myasthenia gravis. This medicine can increase the risk of adverse effects. Avoid taking Zolcalm N 5mg in such cases.
- You have severe liver impairment, as the medicine can worsen your condition.
- You have a respiratory illness. Take this medicine with caution due to the increased risk of severe side effects.
Directions for Use
- Follow your doctor's directions for Zolcalm N 5 mg's dosage and duration.
- Take the whole pill at once. It is not a chewable tablet and does not cut, crush or break it in any way.
- Take Zolpidem only once before going to bed, and don't repeat it.
- It is not advised for long-term use because it can become addictive.
- Don't stop the medicine suddenly if you've been taking it regularly.
- Take Zolpidem N 5 mg at a set time.

Interactions with other medicines
- When taking Zolcalm N 5 mg or other benzodiazepines, you should avoid opioids such as morphine, codeine, tramadol, and hydrocodone and any cough treatments containing these medications as co-administration can cause sedation, dyspnea, and fluctuations in the blood pressure.
- If these medications are taken together with anti-hypertensive medicine, it can lead to hypotensive symptoms such as dizziness and lightheadedness. Blood pressure monitoring is needed regularly. The doctor should make appropriate dose changes or medicine substitutions.
- Rifampin, phenytoin, ritonavir, nelfinavir, isoniazid, and nevirapine all have unfavourable interactions with Zolcalm N 5 mg.
Interactions with food items
- Zolcalm N 5 mg may negatively react with grapefruit juice. Grapefruit juice can increase the severity of the medicine’s side effects.
