Zolcalm N 5 mg is used to treat insomnia (the inability to fall or remain asleep) in people with sleep problems. Insomnia may cause you to wake up earlier than usual, and you may find it difficult to fall back asleep.
The appropriate dosage of Zolcalm N 5 mg is decided by the patient's symptoms and administration method.
To keep a consistent amount of medicine in your blood, take your medicine at the same time every day. Even if you feel better, you should never miss a dose and complete the entire course of treatment.
Nausea, diarrhoea, and headache are the prevalent side effects of Zolca N 5 mg. It may make you dizzy or sleepy, so don't drive or do anything else that requires mental focus until you've had a chance to observe how this prescription affects you. An instant-release tablet takes 1.6 hours to take effect, while an extended-release tablet takes 1.5 hours.
Before taking Zolcalm N 5 mg, consult your doctor if you have any liver or renal problems. Do not consume alcoholic drinks while taking this medication. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should avoid taking this medication. Always consult your doctor before using it if the need arises.

Directions for Use

Melatonin is a hormone generated by the body that regulates the sleep-wake cycle and encourages sleep. Zolpidem is a sedative that causes nerve cells in the brain to slow down, allowing you to sleep for extended periods.
Zolcalm N 5 mg is a hypnotic and sedative medication. Hyperpolarization is achieved by blocking omega-1 type GABA receptors, resulting in increased chloride conduction. The action potential is inhibited, and sleep is induced via this function.
Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- When taking Zolcalm N 5 mg or other benzodiazepines, you should avoid opioids such as morphine, codeine, tramadol, and hydrocodone and any cough treatments containing these medications as co-administration can cause sedation, dyspnea, and fluctuations in the blood pressure.
- If these medications are taken together with anti-hypertensive medicine, it can lead to hypotensive symptoms such as dizziness and lightheadedness. Blood pressure monitoring is needed regularly. The doctor should make appropriate dose changes or medicine substitutions.
- Rifampin, phenytoin, ritonavir, nelfinavir, isoniazid, and nevirapine all have unfavourable interactions with Zolcalm N 5 mg.
Interactions with food items
- Zolcalm N 5 mg may negatively react with grapefruit juice. Grapefruit juice can increase the severity of the medicine’s side effects.
