Precautions and Warnings

Pregnancy

Pregnancy

Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. When applied to the skin in limited amounts, Tricomax Scalp has minimal absorption and is generally considered safe, but your doctor will weigh benefits and risks.

Breast Feeding

Breast Feeding

Tricomax Scalp has minimal absorption through the skin. If applying to the breast area, wash thoroughly before breastfeeding the baby. Consult your doctor for personalized advice.

Driving

Driving

Tricomax Scalp has no or negligible effect on your ability to drive or operate machinery.

Alcohol

Alcohol

Alcohol does not interact with topical Tricomax Scalp. However, avoiding alcohol may help your immune system fight the infection more effectively.

Directions for Use

For external use only on healthy skin free from cuts and wounds. Wash your hands before and after applying Tricomax Scalp unless your hands are the treated area. Apply a thin layer of the lotion to the affected skin area as directed by your doctor. Do not cover the treated area with tight bandages or airtight dressings unless advised by your doctor. Allow the lotion to dry completely before wearing clothing.

Storage and disposal

Store Tricomax Scalp at room temperature away from heat and direct sunlight. Keep the bottle tightly closed. Do not refrigerate. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use if the lotion has changed colour or become cloudy. Dispose of unused medicine according to local pharmacy guidelines.

Quick Tips

  • Keep the affected skin clean and dry, as moisture and humidity may worsen fungal infections.
  • Do not share Tricomax Scalp with others, even if they have similar symptoms.
  • Consult your doctor if the infection spreads or does not improve after about 2 weeks of treatment.
  • Avoid applying Tricomax Scalp on large areas, the face, or private areas unless specifically advised by your doctor.
  • Stop using Tricomax Scalp and consult your doctor if severe burning, severe irritation, or worsening of the infection occurs.

Dosage

Overdose

An overdose is unlikely when using this medicine topically on the skin. If you or someone else accidentally swallows a significant amount, contact your doctor or visit the nearest hospital immediately.

Missed a Dose

If you missed a scheduled application, apply it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next scheduled application, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular application schedule. Do not apply a double amount of lotion to compensate for the missed one.

How does this medicine work?

Tricomax Scalp works by two mechanisms. The antifungal component targets and kills fungi causing skin infections, preventing them from growing and spreading. The corticosteroid component reduces inflammation, redness, swelling, and itching associated with the infection. Together, these ingredients help restore healthy skin.

Interactions

Interactions with other medicines

No significant interactions are expected when using Tricomax Scalp on the skin only. However, if you are using other skin medicines or corticosteroid creams, inform your doctor before starting Tricomax Scalp to avoid overlapping treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Most fungal skin infections improve within 2-4 weeks of starting Tricomax Scalp treatment. However, you should consult your doctor if there is no improvement after 2 weeks or if the infection spreads.
Do not apply Tricomax Scalp on the face or in skin folds without doctor's advice. Corticosteroid-containing lotions can thin the skin in sensitive areas. Always consult your doctor about using this lotion on delicate skin.
Fungi thrive in warm, moist environments. Keeping the affected skin clean and dry, and allowing air to reach the area, helps the medicine work better and prevents the infection from worsening.
Do not cover the treated area with occlusive dressings such as plastic wrap or waterproof bandages unless specifically advised by your doctor. Occlusive coverings can increase absorption and may cause side effects.
