Interactions with other medicines

  • Strong inhibitors of CYP3A like ketoconazole and itraconazole, when taken with ticagrelor, may increase the ticagrelor exposure
  • Strong inducers of CYP3A like rifampin and phenytoin, when taken with ticagrelor, may reduce the exposure of ticagrelor
  • Doses of aspirin above 100mg reduce the efficiency of ticagrelor
  • Ticagrelor may increase the serum concentration of simvastatin and lovastatin

Interactions with food items

  • Ticagrelor's CYP3A4 metabolism is inhibited by grapefruit, which may increase its serum levels
