Telsartan Ct Tablet combines chlorthalidone and telmisartan. It is used to treat high blood pressure when a single medication has failed or cannot control it effectively. This medicine works by relaxing blood vessels and decreasing fluid retention in the body, thereby increasing urinary output. Follow your doctor's instructions when taking this medicine. Avoid missing any doses or stopping Telsartan Ct Tablet without consulting your doctor. High blood pressure is a serious health condition that, if left untreated, can lead to various complications and impact other body systems, including the brain, heart, blood vessels, and kidneys. Therefore, in addition to taking your medication on schedule, it is advisable to adopt certain lifestyle changes. Uses

For the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure), when blood pressure cannot be controlled by telmisartan or chlorthalidone alone.

Contraindications

  • If you are allergic to telmisartan, chlorthalidone or any of the ingredients of Telsartan Ct Tablet.
  • If you are allergic to antibiotics like sulfasalazine, sulfisoxazole, etc.
  • If you feel difficulty in passing urine or passing no urine at all (anuria).
  • If you have diabetes or a kidney problem and you are taking medicine for lowering the blood pressure like aliskiren.

  • You have an increased level of potassium in the blood or are on any potassium supplements.

  • Telsartan Ct Tablet should not be used in children below 18 years of age.

Telsartan Ct Tablet should be consumed as a whole with a sufficient amount of water with or without food. Never stop this medicine on your own. Take this medicine as advised by your doctor.

  • Store it below 25°C in a cool, dry place. Protect it from sunlight and moisture.
  • Keep out of sight and reach of children and pets.

Overdose

Symptoms of an overdose may include irregular heart rhythms, dizziness, electrolyte imbalance, nausea, weakness and vomiting. If you think you have taken too much of this medicine, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.

Missed a Dose

  • A hormone called angiotensin is responsible for the narrowing of blood vessels and rise in blood pressure. Telmisartan lowers blood pressure by blocking the action of angiotensin.
  • Chlorthalidone acts by increasing the loss of water and salt from the body, thus resulting in increased production of urine, thereby lowering the blood pressure.
