Szetalo Plus Md Tablet

• Szetalo Plus Md tablets are used in the treatment of anxiety disorder.

• Do not take Szetalo Plus Md tablets or use caution:
• If you are allergic to Escitalopram or Clonazepam, or any other ingredient of this tablet
• If you are on treatment with Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs) like Phenelzine and Selegiline
• If you have liver failure or decreased liver function
• If you are suffering from glaucoma (a painful eye condition that occurs when fluid pressure inside your eye rises quickly)
• If you have decreased lung function or lung failure
• If you are susceptible to breathing fluid into the lungs (aspiration)
• If you are suffering from kidney disease with a likely reduction in kidney function
• If you have an alcohol-dependence disorder or have a history of substance abuse

• Headache

• Nausea

• Constipation
• Weight change
• Dry mouth
• Dizziness
• Drowsiness
• Sleeping problems
• Fatigue
• Breathlessness
• Poor coordination of movements
• Decreased libido
• Ejaculation disorder

• Menstrual disorders
• Memory problems
• Most of these side effects are self-limiting and go away once the body adjusts to the medicine. However, consult your doctor immediately if they persist or worsen with time.

Other General Warnings

• You are on treatment with other antidepressant medication.
• You have developed seizures for the first time after starting treatment with Szetalo Plus Md tablets.
• You are already on treatment with Szetalo Plus Md tablets and have to start a new medicine that may interact with Szetalo Plus Md tablets. Your doctor will consider dose adjustment or alternative medication.
• You take Ayurvedic or herbal supplements like St John's Wort for depression.
• You have planned surgery or a dental procedure.
• You have heart disease or high blood pressure.
• You develop liver or renal dysfunction after you have started this medicine.
• You have suicidal or self-harming thoughts.
• You have a history of medicine or alcohol abuse. This medicine causes dependency if used for the long term. It is important to monitor the dosage of Szetalo Plus Md tablets. It is best not to use it for a long time.
• You want to stop using Szetalo Plus Md tablets. Suddenly stopping this medicine can cause withdrawal symptoms like tremors, sweating, nausea, muscle pain, etc.

• Szetalo Plus Md tablets should be used as advised by your doctor.
• The medicine can be taken with or without food. Have the medicine after meals in case of stomach problems.
• Swalow the the tablet whole with a glass of water; do not break or chew athe pill.
• Szetalo Plus Md tablet should be taken at a fixed time every day to maintain a constant level of medicine in the body.

How Does It Work?

Interactions with other medicines

• Allergy medicines like cetirizine, muscle relaxants, and cold or cough medicine increase the sedative effect of the Szetalo Plus Md tablets.
• Blood thinners/antiplatelet agents like aspirin increase the risk of bleeding.
• Medicines like Cimetidine that inhibit the metabolism of Szetalo Plus Md tablets increases blood levels of the latter, causing increased chances of side effects.
• Taking Szetalo Plus Md tablets with antibiotics like linezolid increases Serotonin Syndrome risk. This is a serious medical condition characterised by symptoms like agitation or restlessness, confusion, insomnia, rapid heart rate, high blood pressure, and loss of muscle coordination.
• Taking Szetalo Plus Md tablets with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) like selegiline increase the risk of Serotonin Syndrome.
• Opiates or narcotic pain relievers (such as codeine, fentanyl, tramadol, etc.) increase the sedative effect caused by Szetalo Plus Md tablets.
• Beta-blockers like metoprolol increase metoprolol concentration in the blood, leading to an additive blood-pressure-lowering effect.
• Central nervous system stimulants like amphetamine and methylphenidate, when taken with Szetalo Plus Md tablets, cause side effects such as nervousness, anxiety, restlessness, flight of thoughts and ideas, and elation and euphoria.

Interactions with food items

• Tea and coffee can minimise the calming effects of Szetalo Plus Md tablets.
