Shine 25 MG Description

Shine 25 mg Tablet is used to treat depression (symptoms of hopelessness, mood swings and sleep disturbances) in adults. It is also prescribed to treat neuropathic pain (pain due to nerve injury) and

migraine in adults. Shine 25 mg tablet belongs to a class of medicine generally used to treat symptoms of depression. The active ingredient in Shine 25 mg tablets is amitriptyline, which increases the level of mood-stabilising chemicals in the body and thus effectively helps in maintaining a mental balance and treating depression. Amitriptyline also has pain-reducing properties and treats migraine headaches and severe pain arising from any nerve damage. Shine 25 mg tablets should be taken as prescribed by a doctor. The duration and dose of this medicine will vary depending on the affected person’s condition and age. Side effects of Shine 25 mg tablets include nausea, constipation, dry mouth, and headache. It is advisable to consult a doctor before starting treatment with the Shine 25 mg tablets and get complete information on its potential side effects and benefits. Interactions of Shine 25 mg tablets with other medicines have been found. Shine 25 mg tablets are used to treat:
Depression in adults

Contraindications of Shine 25 MG

Do not take Shine 25 mg tablets or take with caution:
If you’re allergic to amitriptyline or any of the ingredients present in the medicine.
If taking medications that are classified as Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs, class of medicine used in the treatment of depression).
If you have heart problems or recently had a heart attack.
If you have a severe liver disease.
If you are a child below six years of age.

Side effects of Shine 25 MG

Most of the side effects of Shine 25 mg tablets are mild and disappear once the body adjusts to the medicine. However, immediately consult a doctor if the symptoms persist or become worse.

Can I drive if I have taken a Shine 25 mg tablet?

No. It is not advisable to drive when taking Shine 25 mg tablets as it is known to cause impairment of mental and physical abilities required while driving a car. It may induce sleepiness, dizziness, confusion, blur your vision, and impair your ability to think and concentrate. Hence, it is not recommended to drive a vehicle when under this medication.

Can I consume alcohol with Shine 25 mg tablets?

No. Alcohol must be avoided with Shine 25 mg tablets as it increases sleepiness and symptoms of severe side effects that can be life-threatening.
