active ingredient. Sertraline increases serotonin, a natural substance in the brain that maintains mental balance. Sertima Tablet’s side effects include sleepiness, headache, and forgetfulness. Can I take a Sertima Tablet while breastfeeding?

Avoid taking Sertima Tablet while breastfeeding as it is found to be excreted in breast milk.

Driving

Can I drive if I’ve taken the Sertima Tablet?

No, it isn’t safe to drive when taking Sertima Tablet as it’s known to cause impairment of mental and physical abilities required while driving a car. It might also induce sleepiness, dizziness, confusion, forgetfulness and affect your judgement and thinking ability. Hence, it’s not recommended to drive a car when under this medication.
