Uses
- Sermind 50 mg Tablet is used in,
- Treatment of major depressive disorder.
- Management of panic attacks.
- Management of symptoms of obsessive-compulsive disorder.
Contraindications
- If you have hypersensitivity or are allergic to the active or inactive ingredients of Sermind 50 mg Tablet.
- If you are pregnant or lactating.
- If you have been diagnosed with any liver disease.
- If you are using other antidepressants like monoamine oxidase inhibitors.

Directions for Use
- Sermind 50 mg Tablets should only be used if recommended by a doctor.
- Sermind 50 mg Tablets can be taken with or without food.
- Sermind 50 mg Tablets should be swallowed whole with a glass of water. Do not chew or crush it.
- Avoid using Sermind 50 mg Tablets if the seal of the packet is not intact.

Interactions with other medicines
- To avoid side effects associated with medicine interaction, inform your doctor about all medicines and health supplements you are currently taking.
- Sermind 50 mg Tablet is known to interact with the following medicines:
- Abciximab, when combined with sertraline(the active ingredient of Sermind 50 mg Tablet), may increase the chances of bleeding in the gastrointestinal system.
- Acarbose may lead to increased blood sugar.
- Aceclofenac may increase the chances of gastric bleeding.
- Atomoxetine decreases the metabolism of sertraline.
- Zopiclone may increase the risk of side effects.
- Valproate bismuth increases the chances of serotonin syndrome (characterised by high blood pressure, confusion and muscle rigidity).
Interactions with food items
- No adverse interaction of Sermind 50 mg Tablets with any food is known yet. However, you should follow the dietary instructions as advised by your doctor. In case of any weight gain, consult a dietician and do regular exercises.
