Uses
- S Celepra tablets are mainly used for the treatment of major depressive disorder. It uplifts your mood and helps you get energetic.
- S Celepra tablets may also be indicated for Phobias, OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) and related disorders like Generalised anxiety disorder, Post-traumatic stress disorder, Social anxiety disorder, Binge eating disorders etc.
- S Celepra is the preferred medication for mood disorders in premenstrual syndrome occurring in women.
- As Citalopram does not cause any cognitive and psychomotor impairment, it is preferred for prophylaxis for recurrent depression in combination with the other medications.

- You should monitor your blood sugars while using this medication, especially if you have diabetes.
- You should provide complete information of your medical history to your physician.
- You should not self medicate. It’s suggested to consult your physician before using the S Celepra tab.
- You should not take more tablets at a time, even if your symptoms don't subside.
- You shouldn’t abruptly stop taking the medication. It may lead to withdrawal symptoms like body ache, bowel upset, agitation, sleep disturbances, paraesthesias (abnormal sensations like tingling).
- You should always observe for any side effects.
- You are advised to use it as directed by your doctor as long term use may lead to the development of tolerance to the medication.
Directions for Use
- Take S Celepra precisely as prescribed by your physician.
- Don't exceed the dosage or don't miss the dose.
- Don't discontinue the medication until the completion of the course as directed by your physician, even if the symptoms disappear.
- Take the tablet as a whole with a glass of water.
- Don't break this tablet or chew it.
- It is suggested to take the tablet at the same time regularly to maintain its efficiency.
- Don't take if the package has been opened.
- Check the label for the expiry date before use.

- It is suggested to take medicine as per the dose prescribed by your physician. If you overdose on the medication, you may experience symptoms like vomitings, increased heart rate, tremors, loose motions etc. If you experience any of the above side effects, consult your physician immediately, even if you have no disease history.

Interactions with other medicines
- S Celepra tab, when taken along with MAO inhibitor medications (antidepressant medications), tramadol (pain killer), may affect serotonin leading to ‘Serotonin syndrome’. You may experience symptoms like agitation, restlessness, rigidity, sweating, twitchings, hyperthermia followed by precipitation of fits. S Celepra tab should not be started within 14 days after discontinuation of MAO inhibitor medications like Moclobemide.
- The S Celepra tab should not be concomitantly used with blood thinners like warfarin as it may increase haemorrhage risk.
- S Celepra tab when co-administered with Antipsychotic medications like pimozide, haloperidol, phenothiazine etc
- Antimicrobials like moxifloxacin, erythromycin etc., Tricyclic antidepressants like amitriptyline, Antihistamines like mizolastine etc, may cause changes in ECG.
- S Celepra tab can increase the levels of the following medications in the blood when co-administered:
- Tricyclic antidepressants
- Haloperidol
- Benzodiazepines (Sedative medications)
- Warfarin (blood thinners) etc. So they must be used with caution.
Interactions with food items
- S Celepra can be taken with or without food. If you feel any gastric irritation or nausea while taking this medicine, it can be taken with food. There is no proper evidence of its interaction with the food.
