There is no or limited data available on the use of rifaximin in pregnant women. Animal studies have however shown transient effects on skeletal variations in the fetus, therefore the use of Rifabiz 400mg tablet should be avoided.

Breast Feeding

Can I take Rifabiz 400mg capsule while breastfeeding?

It is unknown whether rifamixin is excreted in human milk, therefore please consult your doctor.

Driving

Can I drive if I have taken Rifabiz 400mg capsule?

It is safe to drive after taking Rifabiz 400mg capsule. However, if dizziness is observed avoid driving till the effect subsides.

Mode of Action of Rifabiz 400 MG

How Does It Work?

Rifaximin, an antibiotic reduces ammonia production by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, thereby killing those ammonia-producing bacteria in the digestive tract.

Rifabiz tablet should be taken as per the instructions given by your doctor
It should be swallowed as a whole
The tablet must not be chewed, crushed or broken

Interactions with other medicines

Rifaximin may decrease the exposure of concomitant CYP3A4 substrates in hepatically impaired patients
Dose adjustments should be done when rifaximin is given with oral anticoagulants
Co-administration of a potent P-glycoprotein inhibitor with a rifaximin may increase the rifaximin systemic exposure
