Recita 5 MG Description
Recita 5 mg Tablets are used in the treatment of major depressive disorder, anxiety disorders, panic disorders and obsessive-compulsive disorders. It contains an active ingredient called escitalopram
oxalate, which is an antidepressant. After evaluating your clinical condition, your consulting physician will determine the dose and frequency of Recita 5 mg Tablet. This medicine takes about 4-6 weeks to reach its full potential. It should not be used with alcohol and should only be taken in the prescribed amount. After starting this tablet, certain patients, especially adolescents and young adults, may experience suicidal tendencies and ideation. Therefore, it is recommended to stay in contact with your consulting physician for the entire duration of your treatment.

How Does It Work?
Directions for Use of Recita 5 MG
- Swallow Recita 5 mg Tablet as a whole with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew it, as this may reduce its efficacy.
- Take Recita tablets before your meals at the same time each day for optimal pharmacological effects.
- Do not alter the dosage or frequency of Recita 5 mg Tab prescribed by your doctor.
- Do not stop taking Recita 5 mg Tablet without consulting your doctor.
Interactions of Recita 5 MG
Interactions with other medicines
- Recita 5 mg Tabs may interact with the following medications; therefore, it is critical that you inform your consulting physician about any medications you are on :
- Can cause serotonin syndrome when co-administered with-
- Antidepressants such as phenelzine, rasagiline and selegiline
- Antibiotics such as linezolid
- Intravenous dyes such as methylene blue
- Medicines used to control motor tics like pimozide
- Medicines used to control migraine headaches like sumatriptan
- Blood thinners like aspirin and warfarin can increase the chances of spontaneous bleeding.
- Sedating antiallergens like chlorpheniramine or promethazine can cause excessive sedation.
Interactions with food items
- Avoid taking caffeine-containing food and beverages like chocolate, tea, coffee, and energy drinks with Recita 5 mg Tab, as they can neutralise its calming effects.
- There are no other specific food interactions of Recita 5 mg Tab. You can continue with your normal diet unless advised otherwise by your doctor.
- Abstain from drinking alcohol and smoking during the course of your treatment with Recita Tab.
