Picamid Plus Eye Drop is an ophthalmic solution containing tropicamide and phenylephrine as active ingredient. It is used to dilate the pupil before operative procedure. It is also used to dilate pup

il for certain diagnostic procedures. This medicine acts by relaxing the eye muscle and thus dilating the pupil. Picamid Plus is an eye drop and should be used externally only. Use this Eye Drop as advised by your doctor for the prescribed duration.

Precautions and Warnings

Uses of Picamid Plus Eye Drops 5ml

For pre-operative dilation of pupil (mydriasis).
For diagnostic purposes when treatment with either tropicamide or phenylephrine is not sufficient.

Contraindications of Picamid Plus Eye Drops 5ml

If you are allergic to tropicamide, phenylephrine or any other ingredient of Picamid Plus Eye Drop.
If you have glaucoma or eye condition such as changes in iris of the eye.
Picamid Plus should not be used for children below 12 years of age.

Mode of Action of Picamid Plus Eye Drops 5ml

How Does It Work?

Tropicamide acts by relaxing the sphincter muscles of the eye, thus dilating the pupil.
Phenylephrine acts by constricting the blood vessels and relaxing the eye muscles, thereby dilating the pupil.

Directions for Use of Picamid Plus Eye Drops 5ml

Use this medicine as instructed by your doctor.
Follow directions carefully & do not miss doses.
Wash your hands thoroughly before and after applying.
Close your eyes for 2-3 minutes and do not blink or squeeze.
Avoid touching your eyes with the dropper and it must be kept clean.
Wipe any excess liquid from your face with a tissue.
Use the exact number of drops recommended.

Store it at a temperature not exceeding 15°C - 25°C. Protect it from freezing.
Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
Discard the solution if it changes colour, turns cloudy or if it contains particles.

Overdose

As Picamid Plus Eye Drop is meant for external application, cases of overdose are unlikely. However, upon accidental ingestion, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.
If you have applied extra quantities of it, wipe out the excess of the medicine with tissue or cotton.
