Medical Description
Obrenza tablet is an anti-cancer medicine containing olaparib as its active ingredient. It works by disrupting a key repair mechanism in cancer cells, making it difficult for them to repair their damaged DNA and preventing their growth and spread. This targeted approach helps treat certain types of cancer, particularly those with defects in DNA repair pathways.
Women of childbearing potential should not be pregnant when starting treatment with Obrenza tablet. Before initiating treatment, a pregnancy test is recommended for all women capable of becoming pregnant. Females of reproductive potential must use effective contraception during therapy and for 6 months after receiving the last dose. Male patients with female partners who are pregnant or of reproductive potential must use effective contraception during treatment and for 3 months after the final dose, and must not donate sperm during this period. These precautions are necessary to prevent unintended pregnancies and ensure the safety of both the woman and potential fetus, as Obrenza tablet may pose risks to fetal development.
