However, there may be physical dependency (symptoms occur when the medicine is not taken) in people using Mitocent tablets for a long time. This medication is not approved for use in children. There are a few side effects of Mitocent tablets, such as sleeplessness, constipation, low sex desire, etc., but they typically do not require medical attention. - As per CDSCO and USFDA, Mitocent tablets are antidepressant medicines used to manage all types of depression.
Contraindications of Mitocent 7.5 MG
If you are allergic to any component of this tablet.
If you are already using different antidepressants such as MAO inhibitors in the last 14 days, it can cause severe adverse effects.
If you have agranulocytosis (low white blood cells), this medicine can increase the chances of infection.
If you were diagnosed with angle-closure glaucoma, an eye condition associated with increased fluid pressure inside the eye as this medicine worsens the condition.
If you have self-harming or suicidal thoughts.
If you have uncontrolled hypertension.
If you have acute mania and are diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
If you have a severe heart illness such as a recent heart attack, heart rhythm problem such as long QT syndrome..
If you have severe renal or liver impairment.
If you have a history of seizure disorder.
If you have low sodium levels (hyponatremia)....

How Does It Work?
Mitocent tablets contain Mirtazapine as their active ingredient. This medicine is a unique type of antidepressant. It has a dual-mode of action with rapid onset of action. It is a noradrenergic and specific serotonergic antidepressant (NaSSA).
It acts by blocking adrenergic auto and hetero receptors as well as by blocking serotonin receptors. It enhances, therefore, the release of norepinephrine and serotonin. Both are neurotransmitters (chemical messengers) that regulate mood by working on some specific regions of the brain. The Mitocent tablets improve brain activity which results in feelings of well-being. It is extensively metabolised in the liver....
Directions for Use of Mitocent 7.5 MG
- Take the Mitocent tablet exactly in the prescribed dose and the duration.
- Try to swallow the whole tablet with a glass of water; do not break or chew it.
- You can take Mitocent tablets with or without food.
- Do not use this medicine if its packaging is already open or damaged.
- Do not abruptly stop taking Mitocent medication, as it can have side effects.
- Do not increase the dose of Mitocent tablets, even if you do not notice its effects.
- It's better not to take it with other medicines without informing your doctor.
