Minipress Xl 2.5 MG Description

Minipress XL 2.5 mg is a medication used to lower high blood pressure. It contains prazosin, which works by relaxing your blood vessels, making it easier for blood to flow. Take it as prescribed by your doctor, usually with or after meals. Don't suddenly stop taking it as this can cause a serious increase in blood pressure. Before starting Minipress XL, tell your doctor about all your medications, supplements, and any health conditions you have, especially if you're pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding. It's not suitable for children under 18 years of age.

Minipress XL 2.5 mg tablet is used for the treatment of high blood pressure.

Contraindications of Minipress Xl 2.5 MG

If you are allergic to prazosin or any similar medicines or any of the ingredient of Minipress XL 2.5 mg tablet.
If you are under 12 years of age.

Pregnancy

Can I take Minipress XL 2.5 mg medicine during pregnancy?

Breast Feeding

Can I take Minipress XL 2.5 mg medicine while breastfeeding?

Driving

Can I drive after consuming Minipress XL 2.5 mg medicine?

You may experience dizziness, weakness, drowsiness after taking the medicine. Be cautious while driving or operating machinery.

Alcohol

Can I consume alcohol while taking Minipress XL 2.5 mg medicine?

During the treatment, alcohol consumption causes dizziness, when getting up from a sitting or lying position. Avoid alcohol intake along with the medicine.

Other General Warnings

Talk to your doctor if

You have a problem in passing urine or inability, hold urine in the bladder or faint after passing urine.
You had suffered from a heart attack in past or existing heart failure.
You experience water retention or weight gain after taking the medicine, inform the doctor.
You experience postural hypotension (sudden drop in blood pressure upon standing from a sitting position accompanied by fainting and lightheadedness).
You feel numbness in parts of the body (Raynaud's disease), such patients need to be monitored closely.
You are undergoing cataract surgery, inform the doctor in advance because it causes complications during the surgery.
You experience prolonged erection of penis (Priapism) sometimes longer than 4 hours, seek medical assistance as it leads to damage to penile tissue and loss of potency.

Minipress XL 2.5 mg tablet should be taken as directed by your doctor.
Swallow it whole with a glass of water. Do not cut, break or chew the medicine.
It would be best if you took it at a fixed time for optimal results.
You should not consume it more than that prescribed by your doctor.
Never stop the medicine as it may lead to a sudden rise in blood pressure.
