Medical Description
Met XL 25 Tablet is a medicine used to treat high blood pressure, chest pain (angina pectoris), and heart failure. It contains metoprolol as its active ingredient, which works by relaxing blood vessels, reducing the strain on the heart, and helping to lower blood pressure. This improves blood flow and reduces the risk of heart-related complications.
It is important to take Met XL 25 Tablet exactly as prescribed by your doctor, in the correct dose and for the recommended duration. Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly, as this can worsen your condition. If your doctor advises stopping it, the dose will usually be reduced gradually. This medicine is not recommended for use in children under 18 years of age.
Some people may experience side effects such as nausea, tiredness, dizziness, or headache. These are usually mild and temporary. However, if these symptoms become severe or do not go away, you should contact your doctor. Rarely, more serious side effects can occur, so it’s important to be aware of any unusual changes in your health.
Before starting Met XL 25 Tablet, tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. Also inform them about all other medicines, supplements, or herbal products you are taking, and any medical conditions you have, such as asthma, diabetes, or thyroid problems. This will help your doctor make sure the medicine is safe for you.
Other medicines that contain metoprolol as the active ingredient include Prolomet XL 25 tablet, Metolar XR 25 tablet, Seloken XL 25 tablet, Betaloc 25 tablet, and Metocard XL 25 tablet. These may have similar effects but can differ in brand and formulation, so do not switch between them without your doctor’s advice.
