Seloken XL 25 tablet is used to treat high blood pressure, heart-related chest pain, and irregular heart rhythm. It contains metoprolol as its active ingredient. It acts by relaxing the blood vessels which reduces the load on the heart and also decreases the blood pressure. Seloken XL 25 tablet should be taken as directed by the doctor in the exact dose and duration as prescribed. Do not stop taking this medicine on your own. Uses

  • Seloken XL 25 tablet is used for the treatment of high blood pressure, heart-related chest pain (angina), and irregular heart rhythm.

Contraindications

  • If you are allergic to metoprolol or any other ingredient of Seloken XL 25 tablet.
  • If you have a heart conduction problem (like AV block) or uncontrolled heart failure.
  • If you have sick sinus syndrome (abnormal heart rhythms due to malfunction of sinus node).
  • If you have continuous chest pain that occurs when you are at rest, between midnight and early morning (Prinzmetal's angina).
  • If you have reduced blood supply to your limbs.
  • If you have asthma or a lung disease known as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
  • If you have untreated high blood pressure due to a tumour in the adrenal gland (pheochromocytoma).
