Medical Description

Homacid eye drops are used to treat uveitis which is the inflammation of the eye. The medication is also used before an eye examination to cause mydriasis (dilation of the pupil), which helps the doctor visualize the eye better. Store the medicine in a cool and dry place. Do not exceed the number of doses per day; contact your doctor immediately or rush to the nearest hospital if you observe any severe side effects.

Directions for Use

  • Take this medication only when prescribed by the doctor; this medication is intended for external use only
  • Do not touch the tip of the dropper or touch your eye after the application
  • If you wear contact lenses, it is advisable to remove them and apply the drop after 15 to 20 minutes
  • Hold the bottle containing the medication in the inverted position or the dropper close to the eye, without touching it and gently squeeze the dropper and drop the medicine into the lower eyelid

  • Store the medication in a cool and dry place below 25°C
  • Keep it away from direct sunlight
  • Discard the unneeded or expired medication safely
  • Keep away from children and pets
  • Keep the lid tightly close after use

If an overdose occurs, consult your doctor immediately, and monitoring is required. Rinse the eye first with lukewarm water; allergic reactions like oedema, lid itching, and erythema can be seen.

Missed a Dose

If the dose is missed, the medication should be taken as soon as possible. Make sure you have the proper time interval between two doses. If the time interval is near the second dose, skip the previous dose and follow the regular schedule.
