Febustat 40 Tablet

• Febustat 40 tablet is used to treat a condition called gout, where the level of a chemical substance called uric acid, which is urate in the body increases.
• It is also used for the treatment of hyperuricaemia (high uric acid levels in the blood).

• Nausea

Other General Warnings

• You have any heart disease or condition.
• You had an acute or sudden gouty attack.
• You have any medical condition and are on the medication for the same.
• You had undergone an organ transplant.
• You have thyroid, liver disease.
• Febustat 40 tablet should not be used by children below 18 years of age.

• Store it at a temperature below 25°C in a cool and dry place.
• Keep it out of reach of children and pets.

• Febustat 40 tablets are used to treat gouty arthritis, a condition where the body has an increased level of uric acid. They can also be used to treat hyperuricaemia, which is high levels of uric acid in the blood. The tablets contain febuxostat as the active ingredient.
• It's important to take the medicine exactly as recommended by your doctor and not exceed the prescribed dose. If you're pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, you should inform your doctor before starting treatment with Febustat 40.
• You should also provide your complete medical history and inform your doctor of any other medicines you're taking. During treatment with this tablet, you should not take any other medications without first consulting your doctor.
• Some people may experience headache, swelling, diarrhoea, or nausea/vomiting when taking Febustat 40 tablets. If you're experiencing any of these side effects, you should inform your doctor.
• If you have a history of alcoholism, it's important to discuss this with your doctor. You should also inform your doctor if you've experienced asthma, rhinitis, or hives after taking aspirin or other NSAIDs in the past.

Interactions with other medicines

• Febustat 40 tablet increases the effect of mercaptopurine, azathioprine (immunosuppressant) and can cause serious harm, hence should not be used concomitantly.
• The effect of Febustat 40 tablet alters when used concomitantly with antacids such as aluminium hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide, thus one should have an interval of a minimum 1 hour between them.
• Discuss with your doctor about any other medicine, herbal preparation and supplements you are taking currently to avoid any possible interactions.
