Duvanta 40 MG Description
Duvanta Tablet is a prescription medicine used for treating depression, urinary incontinence, and neuropathic (nerve) pain related to diabetes. It is composed of Duloxetine as its main ingredient. It
is an antidepressant medicine. The mode of action of the Duvanta tablet is to increase the levels of specific chemical messengers, which regulate the mood and lower the pain caused by nerve damage. Managing the symptoms of depression, especially in people who are not responding to other medications, is one of the uses of the Duvanta tablet. It lowers pain caused due to nerve damage in patients with various conditions. It also reduces restlessness, stress, fear, irritability, loss of interest, etc. You should take Duvanta tablet exactly as prescribed by a doctor, as it induces sleeplessness, constipation, low sex desire, etc. Most of the side effects of Duvanta tablets do not need medical treatment but talk to your doctor if they persist. Uses of Duvanta 40 MG
- According to CDSCO and USFDA, Duvanta can be used for the following conditions:
- To treat major depressive disorders in adults only.
- To manage moderate to severe stress urinary incontinence (lack of control over urination) in women.
- To manage Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD).
- To manage Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathic Pain (pain in diabetic patients due to nerve damage), Fibromyalgia (muscular pain), and Chronic Musculoskeletal Pain.
Contraindications of Duvanta 40 MG
- Do not take Duvanta tablets or take with caution:
- If you have uncontrolled hypertension.
- If you are known to have allergic reactions to any ingredient of the Duvanta tablet.
- If you have an eye condition known as narrow-angle glaucoma. This medicine can increase the fluid pressure inside the eye and worsen the eye condition.
- If you are noticing self-harming or suicidal thoughts.
- If you are already taking different antidepressants.
- If you have a severe renal condition.
- If you have any bleeding disorders.
- If you have severe skin conditions.

- Do not take other antidepressant medications like diazepam, linezolid, fluoxetine, etc., with Duvanta tablets without consulting your doctor. It can cause severe reactions such as increased heart rate, changes in blood pressure, etc....
- Inform your doctor if you are currently on blood thinners like aspirin, warfarin, etc. Using them with a Duvanta tablet can increase the risk of abnormal bleeding.
- Duvanta tablets can interact with many other medications such as sertraline, lithium, and dextromethorphan. They can cause severe side effects like dizziness, drowsiness, etc.
- Try not to take high doses of opioid pain relievers like tramadol or codeine with Duvanta medicine without confirming with your doctor; it can cause extreme drowsiness and other side effects.
- Do not mix antibiotics like ciprofloxacin with Duvanta tablets; it increases the level of Duvanta in the blood and can cause serious side effects.
Interactions with food items
- Some brain-stimulating drinks, including coffee, cola, energy drinks, etc., interfere with the effects of Duvanta medicine.
