Mode of Action of Diprovate Plus S Oint 20gm
How Does It Work?
Salicylic acid is a topical keratolytic that acts as a scale lifter, removing the dead skin cells and helping soften the layers of the skin. Betamethasone is a corticosteroid that helps relieve redness, pain and inflammation. It binds to specific receptors, which induce the synthesis of certain anti-inflammatory proteins. This medication is for external use only. Before using, read the instructions on the label. After cleaning and drying the affected area, apply the ointment. Wash your hands after applying, except if your hands are in the affected area....
Interactions of Diprovate Plus S Oint 20gm
Interactions with other medicines
- Concomitant use of other topical medicine on the same area of the skin may increase the absorption of other topically applied medicines
- Co-administration of medicine that inhibit CYP3A4 like ritonavir have been shown to inhibit the metabolism of corticosteroids leading to increased system exposure
Storage and disposal of Diprovate Plus S Oint 20gm
- Store at a temperature of no more than 25° C.
- Keep out of children's reach and pet
- Keep the ointment in a cool and dry place
- Discard the unneeded or expired medicine safely
- Do not flush the contents of this ointment
