Dapasis 5Mg Strip Of 10 Tablets

• Dapasis Tablet is used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus, where the body does not produce enough insulin or is unable to use it properly.
• It is also used in adults with chronic heart failure, where the heart is unable to pump blood as well as it should, and in adults with chronic kidney disease, to slow down further damage to the kidneys.

• Genital infections with itching, soreness or discharge
• Urinary tract infection
• Increase in frequency of urination
• Painful urination
• Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia), mainly when taken along with insulin or a sulfonylurea
• Dehydration due to loss of too much water from the body
• Back pain
• Dizziness
• Nausea
• Rash

Other General Warnings

• You have type 1 diabetes, where the body does not produce any insulin.
• You have a liver or kidney disease. Your doctor will check your kidney function before starting and during the treatment with this medicine.
• You have fever, nausea or vomiting or infection of the urinary tract.
• You are taking medicines for high blood pressure and have a history of low blood pressure.
• Your blood sugar levels are high, leading to dehydration.
• You have stomach pain, excessive thirst, fast and deep breathing, confusion, unusual sleepiness or tiredness, a sweet smell to breathe, a sweet or metallic taste in the mouth, or different odour urine or sweat or rapid weight loss. If you find these symptoms, then immediately inform your doctor, as these can be signs of a serious condition called diabetic ketoacidosis.
• You have pain, tenderness, redness, or swelling of the genitals or the area between the genitals and the anus, along with fever or a feeling of being unwell. Get medical help immediately, as this can be a sign of a rare but serious infection.
• You are 65 years of age or above, or you are taking water tablets (diuretics), as you are more likely to lose too much water from the body.
• You are going for a surgery or a procedure that needs long fasting. Your doctor may ask you to stop this medicine for a few days.
• You have a wound or an ulcer on your foot. Take good care of your feet and follow the foot care advice given by your doctor.

• Store Dapasis Tablet in a cool and dry place, protected from direct sunlight and moisture.
• Keep out of the sight and reach of children and pets.
• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date printed on the pack.
• Do not throw away any medicine in wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to throw away medicines you no longer use.

Interactions with other medicines

• Some medicines can affect the way Dapasis Tablet works, or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
• Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements, or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction.
• Taking medicine used to remove water from the body (Diuretic), along with this medicine, can cause excessive water loss.
• Inform your doctor if you are on other medicines for diabetes like insulin or a sulfonylurea. Your doctor shall adjust their dose when prescribing Dapasis Tablet.
• Inform your doctor if you are taking medicines for high blood pressure, as your blood pressure may fall too low.
• Inform your doctor if you are taking lithium, a medicine used for mental health conditions, as Dapasis Tablet can lower the level of lithium in your blood and your doctor may need to check it.

Interactions with food items

• Dapasis Tablet can be taken with or without food.
• No specific food interaction has been reported with this medicine.
• Follow the diet plan advised by your doctor or dietician and do not skip meals while taking this medicine.
• Drink enough water through the day, as this medicine makes you pass more urine than usual.

Other general Interactions

• Inform your doctor if you have type 1 diabetes, as Dapasis Tablet is not meant for this condition.
• Inform your doctor if you have or have ever had a kidney problem. Your doctor will check your kidney function before starting and during the treatment with this medicine.
• Inform your doctor if you have a liver problem.
• Inform your doctor if you have ever had diabetic ketoacidosis, or if you are on a very low-carbohydrate diet, as this can increase the risk of ketoacidosis.
• Inform your doctor if you have a heart problem or if you are taking medicines for high blood pressure.
• Inform your doctor if you get repeated urinary tract or genital infections.
• Inform your doctor if you are unwell with fever, vomiting or diarrhoea, or if you are unable to eat or drink normally, as this medicine may need to be stopped for a short while.
