Medical Description

Telekast-L tablet is an anti-allergic medicine. It is used for the management of symptoms of allergic rhinitis such as runny & stuffed nose, blockage in airways, sneezing, itching, watery eyes and other symptoms that occur due to allergies. Telekast-L tablet contains a combination of montelukast and levocetirizine as active substances. This medicine works by blocking the production of chemicals responsible for producing allergy symptoms. It also reduces the constriction and swelling of the airways and makes breathing easier.

Allergic rhinitis is an allergic response to allergy-producing substances like pollen, dust or mould. It irritates the nose/throat and symptoms like sneezing, wheezing, etc. Allergic rhinitis is a common condition that affects an individual’s quality of life and, if left untreated, may contribute to other conditions like asthma, otitis media and sinusitis.

Montek LC tablet, Montina L, Odimont Lc, Montair LC and Monticope tablets also combine montelukast and levocetirizine as active substances. Take this medicine in the exact dose and duration as your doctor recommends. It can be taken with or without food. Do not take more than the prescribed dose. Your doctor may recommend you to preferably take Telekast-L tablet at bedtime, as it may cause dizziness and sleepiness.

Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to its components. It would be best if you were cautious while driving after taking Telekast-L tablet as it may cause dizziness and sleepiness. Before starting this medicine, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning on becoming pregnant or breastfeeding and about your complete medical history.
