Medical Description

Clonotril 2 mg is used to treat different types of seizure (epilepsy/fits) disorders. This medicine contains clonazepam as its active ingredient. Clonotril 2 mg brings about certain changes in the chemicals in the brain, leading to a reduction in the abnormal activity of the nerve cells. Side effects of Clonotril 2 mg include sleepiness and listlessness, dizziness, tiredness, slow reflexes, muscle pain, increase in salivation, increased frequency of urination, unsteadiness in walking, forgetfulness, blurring of vision, and suicidal thoughts. Prolonged use or abruptly stopping Clonotril 2mg may lead to serious withdrawal symptoms such as shakiness, agitation, sweating and anxiety. Therefore, this medicine is given for a short duration, and the dose is gradually reduced. It is given with caution and in very low doses to older adults as they may develop side effects such as confusion, changes in behaviour, and loss of memory.
