20 years of clinical experience as a Family Physician. Shifted to the domain of public health in 2005. Over 8 years of experience in implementing and coordinating healthcare compliance programs and health policy reviews. Instrumental in achieving a significant increase in the utilization of testing facilities and preventive methods while working on the Targeted Intervention program of a Mumbai-based NGO (Sanmitra) for the prevention and control of HIV/AIDS among commercial sex workers. As in charge of an NGO-run health post covering a low-income community of 40,000 in Mumbai, she successfully instituted an innovative “Complete Care Program” to ensure 100% coverage for immunization and institutional deliveries, leading to a significant reduction in neonatal deaths. Received hands-on training in designing new health programs in community health.
