Cleargel Nico gel is an anti-acne medication. It is used to reduce and manage acne, whiteheads, and blackheads. It contains a combination of clindamycin and nicotinamide as its active ingredients. Nicotinamide/niacin is a form of vitamin B3, and clindamycin is an antibiotic. Cleargel Nico gel works by reducing the growth and multiplication of acne-causing bacteria. It also helps in lightening the after-marks due to pimples, acne, and other skin problems.
Acne is a skin condition that develops when oil and dead skin cells block the hair follicles. It may lead to the development of whiteheads, blackheads, pimples, or acne cysts. Bacteria that live on the skin may further cause inflammation and infection, leading to more severe acne. Acne is more common in teenagers, but anyone can get acne.
You may experience a few side effects of Cleargel Nico gel such as skin dryness, itching, and burning sensation. Usually, these side effects are temporary and go away with time However, you should report to your doctor if these side effects persist or worsen.
Faceclin gel, Glocin gel, Nioclean gel, Acnestar gel and Femcinol A gel also have similar ingredients as Cleargel Nico gel. Cleargel Nico gel is meant only for external application. Do not ingest it. This gel should be applied exactly as recommended by your doctor. Do not use this medication for treating any other skin conditions without consulting your doctor.

- You are allergic to any components of this gel or have a history of any allergic skin reaction.

- You have a history of inflammation of the colon or antibiotic-associated diarrhoea, avoid contact with this gel with the eyes, mouth, and nose.
- Cleargel Nico gel is not recommended for use in children below 12 years of age.
Directions for Use
- Use Cleargel Nico gel as told by your doctor.
- Apply it on the skin surface free from cuts & wounds.
- Wash your hands before & after using this gel.
- In case your eyes come in contact with this gel, rinse your eyes with clean water immediately.
- Avoid touching the tip of the container directly to the infected area of the skin.

- Keep it away from children and pets.

How Does It Work?
- Clindamycin is an antibiotic and is widely used to treat various bacterial infections of the skin. It inhibits growth and multiplication of acne-causing bacteria.
- Nicotinamide regulates the amount of acne-causing oil being produced by the oil glands in your skin and helps in lightening the after-marks due to pimple, acne, and other skin problems. It also acts as an anti-inflammatory agent and reduces the swelling and redness associated with acne.
Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- There is limited information available on the interaction of Cleargel Nico gel with other medicines. However, this gel contains Clindamycin & Nicotinamide, and any interaction seen with these two components when taken alone may occur with this combination
- This gel is meant for local application on the skin and thus is less likely to interact with other medicines taken orally. However, it may interact with other topically applied creams or gels. Discuss with your doctor if you are already on another topical medication
- Be cautious if you are taking oral anticoagulants like Warfarin, Acenocoumarol, and Fluindione, as components of these medicines may interact with Cleargel. Regular monitoring of blood coagulation parameters is recommended
