Clavix Tablet

• Clavix 75mg tablet is used for the prevention of heart attacks and strokes in persons with a recent heart attack, recent stroke or blood circulation disease like a peripheral vascular disease.
• It is used in the treatment of a new heart attack, unstable angina, keeping blood vessels open and also preventing blood clots after certain procedures such as a cardiac stent.

• If you are allergic to clopidogrel or any other ingredients of Clavix 75.
• If you have stomach ulcers.
• If you have severe liver disease.
• If you recently had a brain stroke or clotting inside the brain.

• Indigestion or heartburn
• Stomach pain
• Diarrhoea
• Abnormal bleeding or bruising
• Bleeding in the nose or stomach

Other General Warnings

• You may experience diarrhoea or an upset stomach after taking this medicine.
• You are already taking any medicines associated with the risk of bleeding. Caution is advised.
• You are suffering from any kind of blood disorders.
• You recently had a brain stroke or blood clot inside the brain.
• You are suffering from kidney or liver diseases.
• You are allergic to any specific medicines.
• You are undergoing any surgery.
• You should not self-prescribe clopidogrel to other people who have similar signs and symptoms that you have.

• The patient should continue to take clopidogrel as per the doctor’s recommendation. Talk with your doctor about stopping or continuing the Clavix 75mg tablet dosage before or after you have surgery.

• .Store it in original packing to protect it from light.
• Try to keep out of the reach of children and pets.

How Does It Work?

Interactions with other medicines

• Concurrent use of antacids like omeprazole can reduce the activity of Clavix 75mg tablet if taken at the same time.
• Sometimes Clavix 75mg tablet may affect the way other medicines work and other medicines may affect how this medicine works if taken at the same time. Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interactions.
• Especially, if you are taking medicines like any other blood thinners like warfarin or anti-platelet medicines like aspirin, heparin, painkillers, medicines used for brain-related disorders like fluoxetine, anti-HIV medicine, etc. As concomitant use of these medicines with Clavix 75mg tablet can increase the risk of bleeding.
• Other medicines which are to be used with caution are anti-cancer medicines, anti-diabetics, anti-epileptic medicines or anti-fungal antibiotics like fluconazole.
