Description

Aprovel tablet is a medicine used to treat high blood pressure in adults. It contains irbesartan as the active ingredient. It is also prescribed to protect the kidneys in people who have high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes. This medicine works by blocking a natural chemical in the body called angiotensin II, which normally causes blood vessels to constrict and leads to the body retaining salt and water. By blocking this chemical, Aprovel tablet helps blood vessels relax, lowers blood pressure, and supports better kidney health.

Take Aprovel tablet exactly as your doctor has told you. Swallow it whole with water, ideally with or after a meal, to minimise side effects. Try to take it at the same time every day for best results. Common side effects may include nausea, vomiting, dizziness, tiredness, and pain. Do not take more than the prescribed dose. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it’s close to the next scheduled dose. Never double up doses.

Aprovel tablet should not be used if you are allergic to irbesartan or any other ingredients of Aprovel tablet, are pregnant (especially in the second or third trimester), or if you have diabetes or kidney problems and are taking certain other medications like aliskiren. Avoid alcohol, as it may increase dizziness. Tell your doctor if you are taking diuretics, potassium supplements, lithium, or pain relievers like NSAIDs, as they may interact with Aprovel tablet. Special care is also needed if you have heart, kidney, or liver issues, or if you are on medication for diabetes.

Store Aprovel tablet in a cool, dry place away from heat, moisture, and direct sunlight. Keep it out of reach of children and pets. If you accidentally take too much, seek medical help immediately. Let your doctor know if you have any condition that could affect your body’s salt and fluid balance or if you’ve had a kidney transplant. It’s also important to be cautious if you feel dizzy or weak during treatment, especially when starting the medication.
