- Amitop Plus H tablet is used to treat the following cases:
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Insomnia
- Neuropathic pain
Contraindications
- Amitop Plus H tablet is contraindicated in the following cases:
- If you are allergic or hypersensitive to Amitriptyline or Chlordiazepoxide
- If you have taken monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) like Selegiline in the past 14 days
Side effects
- Side effects of Amitop Plus H tablets include the following:
- Drowsiness
- Dry mouth
- Headache
- Nausea
- Constipation
- Blurred vision
- Urination difficulties
- Weight gain
- Tiredness
- Confusion
- Uncoordinated body movements
- Orthostatic hypotension (lowering of BP while standing)
- Sexual dysfunction

- You are on any kind of medicine, vitamins, or supplements.
- You notice a change in thoughts or have suicidal thoughts after starting Amitop Plus H tablets.
- You notice symptoms like excessive aggressiveness, restlessness, and panic attacks.
- You have diabetes. Amitop Plus H tablets can increase blood sugar levels. Thus regular checkups are necessary.
Directions for Use
- Take Amitop Plus H tablets as per a doctor’s recommendation. Take this medicine daily.
- Do not exceed the dosage, assuming it might help you better or for any other reason.
- Take Amitop Plus H tablet with or without food. Take the tablet with food in case you notice any stomach issues.
- Take Amitop Plus H tablet at the same time every day, so a stable concentration of the medicine is maintained in the body.
- Take Amitop Plus H tablets as a whole with some water. Do not break or chew the tablets for use.
- Do not abruptly stop taking Amitop Plus h tablets without consulting a doctor; it might worsen the situation.

- Amitop Plus H tablets can interact with the following medicines-
- Chloramphenicol (antibiotic) and Acyclovir (antiviral) can decrease the metabolism of the tablet.
- Chlorpromazine (antipsychotic) can increase the risk of orthostatic hypotension.
- Aceclofenac (painkiller) can increase the risk of bruising and bleeding.
- Codeine (in cough syrups and painkillers) can increase the severity of side effects.
- Alprazolam (anti-anxiety) can increase the depressive action on the nervous system.
- Deserpidine (medicine to lower blood pressure) can reduce the efficacy of deserpidine.
Interactions with food items
- Amitop Plus H tablet is not known to interact with any particular food item.
