Althrocin 500mg Tab is an antibiotic made up of the salt erythromycin. The uses of Althrocin 500mg Tab include the treatment of different kinds of bacterial infection. It is a high potency antibiotic and does not work on cold, flu, or any viral infection.

- Visual impairment/blurred vision

Can I take Althrocin 500mg Tab during pregnancy?
Do not take the medicine if you are pregnant or thinking of becoming pregnant. This medicine can cause liver damage if taken during pregnancy.
Can I take Althrocin 500mg Tab while breastfeeding?
Doctors will prescribe this medicine to you only if the benefits exceed the potential risk to the fetus. Only a small amount of the medicine passes into breast milk and this is unlikely to cause side effects in the baby. Monitor your baby for irritability diarrhoea or diaper rash.
Can I drive if I have consumed Althrocin 500mg Tab?
The medicine does not affect your ability to drive.
Can I consume alcohol with Althrocin 500mg Tab?
Alcohol might delay the absorption of this antibiotic; hence caution is advised.

Althrocin 500mg Tab inhibits bacterial growth by preventing the synthesis of proteins that are essential for cell growth.
Directions for Use of Althrocin 500mg Tab
Althrocin 500mg Tab should be taken as per the dosage and duration prescribed by your doctor. It should be swallowed whole. The tablet must not be chewed, crushed, or broken. Take at least 30 minutes before or 2 hours after your meal.

Interactions with other medicines
Serious heart problems can occur if these medicines are taken along with erythromycin amiodarone, astemizole/cisapride, dofetilide, pimozide, procainamide, propafenone, quinidine, sotalol, domperidone, terfenadine, and simvastatin. This medicine may also interact with clindamycin and digoxin.
Interactions with food items
No specific interactions have been observed. Food decreases the absorption of the medicine. Take the medicine at least 30 minutes before or 2 hours after a meal.
