  • Low or high blood pressure
  • Nausea
  • Pain, change in colour, irritation, itching at injection site
  • Metallic taste for short period of time

Pregnancy

Breast Feeding

Driving

This medicine can cause dizziness, confusion or light headedness. Do not drive in such situation.

Iron sucrose is a form of the mineral iron, which replenishes the iron stores of the body; therefore, is used in the treatment of iron deficiency anaemia.

Interactions with other medicines

Treatment with Iron sucrose can decrease the absorption of oral iron medicines or cause other side effects such as iron overload. Inform your physician, specifically if you are taking any iron supplements such as ferrous fumarate, ferrous gluconate, ferrous sulfate etc.

Overdose
