Almotriptan
Molecule Description
Almotriptan belongs to a class of medications called selective Serotonin Receptor Agonists.
Uses of Almotriptan
Sensitive (short-lasting) treatment of migraine attacks, with a history of migraine with or without aura in adults.
Contraindications of Almotriptan
When should one not use Almotriptan
- Do not take if you are allergic to Almotriptan or any ingredient of this medicine
- Do not take this medicine if a person with known or suspected heart disease (reduced blood flow in vessels of heart)
- Do not take this medicine if you have had a stroke or experienced a reduction in the blood flow to the brain
- If you have had obstruction of the large arteries in the arms or legs (peripheral vascular disease)
- Do not take this medicine if you are taking other medicines which used to treat migraines including Ergotamine, Dihydroergotamine, and Methysergide or other Serotonin Agonists (e.g., Sumatriptan)
- Do not take this medicine if you are suffering from severe liver disease
