- If you are allergic to zolpidem or any of the other ingredients of Zolpital Xr 12.5mg Tablets .
- If you have a condition called sleep apnoea, where you stop breathing for short periods at night.
- If you have a condition called myasthenia gravis that causes severe muscle weakness.
- If you have breathing difficulties.
- If you have liver problems.
- If you have a mental illness (psychosis).
- If you are under the age of 18.

- The use of this medicine together with opioids (used to treat pain and some cough medicines) increases the risk of drowsiness, difficulties in breathing and coma and may be life-threatening.
- Medicines used for treating fungal infections, such as ketoconazole, can increase the chance of getting side effects when taken with Zolpital Xr 12.5mg Tablets .
- Rifampicin (an antibiotic used for the treatment of tuberculosis) can reduce the effectiveness of this medicine.
