Zolitas Ods Disintegrating tablet is a prescription medication. The primary use of the Zolitas Ods Disintegrating tablet is to treat migraine in adult patients with or without aura. Migraine is a neu
rological disorder that causes intense pulsating, pounding, throbbing, debilitating headaches. It usually occurs on any side of the head, but it can sometimes occur on both sides or shift in position. The one main component of this medication is Zolmitriptan. It is a combination of cholesterol-lowering and blood-thinning medicines. The mode of action of Zolitas Ods Disintegrating tablets is to narrow the blood vessels in the brain, which can provide relief from migraine headaches. It can also lower certain substances in the body, which can trigger headaches, sensitivity to light and sound, nausea, and other migraine symptoms. This medicine does not prevent or lower the number of migraine attacks; it only helps manage the headache that has already begun. There are a few common side effects of the Zolitas Ods Disintegrating tablet, such as dizziness, tiredness, diarrhoea, sleepiness, dry mouth, vomiting, etc. Most of them do not require any medical attention. Uses of Zolitas Ods 2.5 MG
- As per CDSCO and USFDA, the Zolitas Ods Disintegrating tablet is indicated to treat the following conditions:
- In the management of acute migraine headache with or without aura only in adults
Contraindications of Zolitas Ods 2.5 MG
- Zolitas Ods Disintegrating tablet is contraindicated in the following cases:
- If you have a history of serious hypersensitivity to Rizatriptan or other similar medicines. Serious allergic reactions require immediate emergency treatment with supportive measures
- If you have a cluster headache
- If you are not correctly diagnosed with migraine
- If you have a history of stroke or transient ischemic attack (a few small strokes)
- If you have a history of ischemic heart disease or coronary artery vasospasm
- If you are women who are pregnant, may become pregnant, or currently breastfeeding
- If you have uncontrolled low blood pressure
- If you have Peripheral vascular disease (condition of blood vessels)
- If you are diagnosed with Ischemic bowel disease
- If you have any skeletal muscle disorders (e.g., myopathy and rhabdomyolysis), the dose should be monitored
- If you have any severe bleeding disorder, this medicine increases the risk of bleeding
- If you want to use this medicine in children younger than the age of 10 without consulting the doctor
- If you have recently used certain antidepressants known as MAO inhibitors in the last 14 days
- If you had heart rhythm disorders after using this medicine
- If you experience any bleeding in the brain or stroke
- If you are using any other medicine that increases serotonin, which can lead to serotonin syndrome and life-threatening side effects

Other General Warnings
- You have a severe kidney or liver illness.
- You have swelling of the face, tongue, and throat. It happens due to angioedema (swelling of blood vessels), which can happen with this medicine.
- You are other types of headaches other than migraine.
- You have or are at risk of various types of heart disorders such as Myocardial Ischemia, Myocardial Infarction, and Prinzmetal's Angina
- You have been diagnosed with Gastrointestinal ischemic events (blood flow through the major arteries that supply blood to your intestines slows or stops)
- You experience peripheral vasospastic reactions (sudden contraction of the muscular walls of an artery)
- You experience head due to overuse of the medication. Detoxification may be necessary in such cases.

How Does It Work?
Directions for Use of Zolitas Ods 2.5 MG
- Take Zolitas Ods Disintegrating tablets just as prescribed by the doctor.
- Do not change the dose of the Zolitas Ods Disintegrating tablet, even if you do not see its effects.
- Swallow this pill as a whole with a glass of water. Do not break or chew it.
- Do not take it with other medications without informing your doctor.
- Do not use Zolitas Ods Disintegrating medicine if its packaging has been already opened.
- Do not suddenly stop taking the Zolitas Ods Disintegrating tablet, as it can cause adverse effects.
- Take a Zolitas Ods Disintegrating tablet before meals.
Interactions of Zolitas Ods 2.5 MG
Interactions with other medicines
- It is better to avoid Ergotamine or ergot derivate medicines along with Zolitas Ods tablets. They can have additive effects, which can increase the risk of high blood pressure and constriction of arteries of the heart (coronary artery vasoconstriction)....
- Do not use Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOI) along with these medicines, they can increase serotonin levels in the body which can lead to many severe side effects such as high blood pressure, irritation, drowsiness, lethargy, etc. A gap of a minimum of 2 weeks should be maintained between using both of them....
- Using beta-blockers at the same time as Zolitas Ods tablets can lead to increased plasma levels of these medicines. It results in increased side effects specific to both these medicines.
- Using antidepressants such as Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs) or Serotonin Norepinephrine Reuptake Inhibitors (SNRIs) can also lead to Serotonin Syndrome. It can cause altered mental status, sweating, drowsiness, lethargy, etc....
Interactions with food items
- The effectiveness of Zolitas Ods Disintegrating tablets can be lowered by food. Hence, it is better to take this tablet before food to absorb this medicine better.
