Medical Description

Veltam Plus tablets are used to treat Benign Prostate Hyperplasia (BPH) in men, a condition where the prostate gland becomes enlarged. These tablets combine two active ingredients, tamsulosin and dutasteride, to alleviate BPH symptoms such as difficulty urinating, frequent urination, increased nighttime urination and inability to empty the bladder. Tamsulosin works by relaxing smooth muscles and improving urine flow, while dutasteride reduces the size of the prostate gland.

The most common side effects of Veltam Plus Tablet include dizziness, lightheadedness, drowsiness, runny/stuffy nose, reduced amount of semen/sperm, testicle pain/swelling, increased breast size, or breast tenderness. It may also cause sexual problems such as decreased sex drive or libido.

Tamsulosin and dutasteride are the active ingredients in the medications Urimax D tablet, Flodart Plus tablet, Tamdura capsule, Flokind D tablet and Dutas T Plus tablet. Take Veltam Plus as advised by your doctor and in doses and duration as prescribed. This medicine is not meant to be used for the treatment of prostate cancer.

Prior to taking Veltam Plus tablet, notify your doctor about any liver or kidney issues. Pregnant women and children must refrain from handling the leaking medicine as it can be absorbed through the skin and can impact the normal development of a male baby (especially within the first 16 weeks of pregnancy). Fertile men should use condoms during sexual intercourse to avoid conception. This medication is not suitable for children and adolescents under 18 years old. Caution is advised in elderly patients over 65 years of age.

Contraindications of VELTAM PLUS STRIP OF 10 TABLETS

If you are allergic to tamsulosin, dutasteride or any of the ingredients of the Veltam plus.
If you are allergic to soya and peanut.
If you have a liver disorder or liver function problem.
If you experience giddiness or fall when you gradually get up from a sitting position.

Veltam Plus tablet should be taken as instructed by your doctor.

Store it below 30°C in the original container. Protect it from light and moisture.
Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
This medicine is absorbed through the skin if anyone comes in contact with this medicine by mistake, the contact area should be washed immediately with soap and water.

Quick Tips of VELTAM PLUS STRIP OF 10 TABLETS

Veltam Plus tablet is used for the treatment of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH). It is a common condition in older men where there is an enlargement of the prostate gland.
This medicine should not be used for treating any other condition unless specified by the doctor.
Take this medicine in the exact dose and duration as recommended. Do not take more than the prescribed dose.
Also, inform your doctor about all other medicines that you take, your complete medical history and the dietary supplements you are taking.
Veltam Plus tablet is not recommended for use in children below 18 years of age. This medicine is not meant to be used for the treatment of prostate cancer.
Inform your eye doctor that you are taking Veltam Plus tablet if you are going to have eye surgery for glaucoma or a cataract.
If you experience dizziness or sleepiness after taking Veltam Plus tablet, avoid driving, operating heavy machinery, or performing any tasks that require mental alertness.

Your blood pressure can decrease if you are taking blood pressure-lowering medicines, you are on anaesthesia or taking sildenafil, or prazosin along with a Veltam Plus tablet.
Concomitant use of Veltam Plus tablet along with Ketoconazole, Paroxetine, Verapamil, and Diltiazem should be avoided as there can be increased chances of side effects.
Long-term use of this tablet along with Ritonavir, Indinavir, Nefazodone, Itraconazole, and Ketoconazole should be avoided.
Other medicines like Cimetidine, Diclofenac, and Warfarin should not be used if you are taking Veltam Plus tablet.
