• Tricaine Mps Suspension is used for the treatment of hyperacidity.
• It is used for the treatment of pain and other symptoms like acidity, indigestion, stomach discomfort, heartburn, etc. caused due to stomach ulcers.
• This medicine is also used for the treatment of GERD or gastrointestinal reflux disease (inflammation of the lining of the oesophagus due to acid reflux).

• If you are allergic to oxetacaine (oxethazaince), aluminium hydroxide, magnesium and simethicone or any of the ingredient of Tricaine Mps Suspension
• If you have a severe kidney-related disease
• If you have severe stomach pain or constipation
• If you have weakness

Other General Warnings

• You have problems with your liver or kidney
• Your phosphate levels are decreasing, resulting in the softening of bones and unexplained fractures. The doctor may ask you to monitor your blood phosphate levels regularly.
• You have constipation
• The safety and effectiveness of Tricaine Mps Suspension in children has not been studied.

How Does It Work?

• Tricaine Mps Suspension contains oxetacaine (oxethazaince), aluminium hydroxide, magnesium and simethicone.
• Oxetacaine (oxethazaince): It acts like a local anaesthetic and helps in lowering the pain and burning sensation associated with the ulcers
• Simethicone: It is a defoaming agent it helps to break down the gas bubbles formed in the stomach into smaller size which facilitates the release of gas. This helps in reducing the bloating and abdominal pain associated with gas formation.
• Aluminium hydroxide & Magnesium: They neutralize the increased acidity thereby reducing the acidity and heartburn

Interactions with other medicines

• Some medicines can affect the way Tricaine Mps Suspension works or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.

• Especially if you are taking antibiotics like oxytetracycline, rifampicin, ciprofloxacin, cefdinir and tetracyclines; vitamins, antifungals (ketoconazole), antimalarials like hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine; chlorpromazine (used in psychiatric illness), rosuvastatin (used to lower cholesterol), polystyrene sulphonate (used to treat high blood potassium levels).
