Suprabenz plus 5mg tablet is a prescription medicine for people suffering from anxiety and depression. Suprabenz plus 5mg tablet comes under the class of antidepressants and anti-anxiety medicines. S

uprabenz plus is also prescribed in obsessive-compulsive disorders. Suprabenz Plus 5mg tablet contains two medicines: Escitalopram and Etizolam. Escitalopram increases the serotonin levels in your brain. It is also used to relieve anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorder. Etizolam comes into the category of benzodiazepines(depressant or tranquiliser). It acts as a calming agent and promotes sleep. Due to the Etizolam component of Suprabenz Plus, this medicine can be habit-forming. It should be taken only under appropriate medical supervision and with guidance from a doctor.

Can I take Suprabenz Plus 5mg tablet during pregnancy?

Managing depression during pregnancy may be a challenge. Combined advice of a mental health clinician, obstetrician, primary health care provider and paediatrician should be taken. It is advised not to consume this medicine during pregnancy as it might pose a risk to the unborn baby. Studies on animal subjects have exhibited adverse effects on the foetus. Suprabenz Plus 5mg Tablets should be given only if the benefits are more than the risk to the foetus.

Breast Feeding

Can I take Suprabenz Plus 5mg tablet while breastfeeding?

This medicine may be avoided during breastfeeding unless very necessary. The potential risks and benefits should be discussed with your doctor before taking the medicine. A part of the medicine may be absorbed and secreted in the breast milk, and pass on to the baby. This may prove harmful for the infant.

Driving

Can I drive if I have taken Suprabenz plus 5mg tablet?

This medicine is not recommended to be consumed immediately before driving as it is a sedative. Consuming the medicine even a couple of hours before driving can alter the judgement and cause accidents.

Alcohol

Can I consume alcohol with Suprabenz Plus 5mg tablet?

It is firmly recommended to not consume alcohol during the course of this medicine due to the increased risk of serious adverse effects such as sleepiness or drowsiness.
