Stamaril vaccine is used to protect from yellow fever. Yellow fever is a serious illness caused by a virus found in certain parts of the world. This vaccine contains a weakened, live yellow fever virus that cannot cause the illness itself. It helps your body learn how to fight the real virus if you are ever exposed to it.

Common side effects of this vaccine include injection site reactions (pain, swelling, redness), muscle pain, fever, weakness, and loss of appetite. Stamaril vaccine is given to people to protect them from yellow fever if they are:
Traveling to or living in an area where yellow fever is a risk.
Traveling to a country that requires proof of yellow fever vaccination to enter.
Working with materials that could be infectious (like in a laboratory).

Contraindications of Stamaril 0.5 ML

If you are allergic to any of the ingredients in the vaccine, including eggs or chicken proteins.
If you have had a severe allergic reaction after a previous yellow fever vaccine.
If you are under 6 months of age.
