Mode of Action

How Does It Work?

The Recita Lite tablet has Escitalopram and Clonazepam. Escitalopram belongs to the class of antidepressant medications. It increases the activity and levels of serotonin in the brain by blocking its reuptake by nerve cells. Serotonin is a natural chemical substance in the brain responsible for stabilising mood, causing good feelings, and improving behaviour. It can also help in sleeping, eating, and digestion. Clonazepam is a tranquilliser (reduced fear and anxiety) medicine. It functions by increasing the action of GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid), which is a chemical messenger in the brain. GABA lowers the abnormal or excessive activity of nerve cells in the brain. It is responsible for its sedation properties. Clonazepam does not affect the levels of GABA in the brain.
