Pantosec D SR Capsule
Description
Pantosec D SR Capsule is a combination medicine commonly prescribed for acidity, heartburn, acid reflux, stomach ulcers, and digestive issues such as nausea and vomiting. It contains two active ingredients: pantoprazole, which reduces excess acid in the stomach, and domperidone, which helps control nausea and prevents food and acid from moving back into the food pipe. Together, these actions provide quick relief from discomfort and help protect the stomach lining from further damage.
This medicine should be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor. The usual recommendation is to take Pantosec D SR once daily, preferably in the morning on an empty stomach or at least one hour before a meal. Taking it at the same time every day ensures better results and reduces stomach-related side effects. Never self-medicate or stop the medicine suddenly without your doctor’s advice, as this can cause your symptoms to return or worsen.
There are other medicines available with the same combination of pantoprazole and domperidone, such as Pan D capsule, Pantocid DSR capsule, Dompan SR, and Uplan DSR capsule. While they work similarly, your doctor will prescribe the most suitable one based on your health condition and medical history. It is important to inform your doctor about any existing illnesses or medicines you are already taking to avoid harmful interactions.
Along with taking Pantosec D SR, making a few lifestyle changes can improve your digestive health. Eating smaller meals, chewing food properly, and avoiding overeating can prevent excess acid formation. It is also advisable not to lie down immediately after eating, as this increases the risk of acid reflux. Limiting spicy, oily, and processed foods, as well as reducing caffeine and carbonated drinks, can further help in controlling acidity.
Healthy lifestyle habits are key to long-term relief. Try to quit smoking, reduce alcohol consumption, maintain a healthy body weight, and stay active with regular exercise. These steps, along with your medication, can provide better control over acidity and heartburn. Always consult your doctor if your symptoms persist or worsen despite taking Pantosec D SR, so that the treatment can be adjusted as necessary.
