Octreo 100mg Injection

• Octreo 100mg Injection is used to treat acromegaly, a condition where the body produces too much growth hormone.
• It is also used to relieve symptoms associated with the overproduction of some specific hormones and other related substances by the stomach, bowels or pancreas.
• Octreo 100mg Injection is also used to treat neuroendocrine tumours located in the gut (appendix, small intestine or colon) and pituitary tumours that produce too much thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH).

• Headache
• Diarrhoea
• Abdominal pain
• Nausea
• Flatulence (gas)

Other General Warnings

• You have gallstones or have had them in the past.
• You experience any complications like fever, chills, abdominal pain or yellowing of your skin or eyes after using this medicine.
• You have diabetes.
• You have a history of low levels of vitamin B12.

• Octreo 100mg Injection will be given by your doctor or nurse.
• Do not self-inject this medicine. Follow any aftercare instructions given by the doctor or nurse.

• Store Octreo 100mg Injection in a refrigerator (2°C to 8°C). Do not freeze.
• Keep out of reach of children and pets.

How Does It Work?

Interactions with other medicines

• Some medicines can affect the way Octreo 100mg Injection works or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
• Tell your doctor about all medicines, supplements or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction.
• Particular care should be taken if you are taking medicines such as cimetidine (used for treating ulcers/GERD), ciclosporin (used to prevent rejection of organ transplant), bromocriptine (used to treat certain menstrual problems), quinidine (used to treat abnormal/irregular heartbeats) and terfenadine (used to treat allergic conditions).
• If you are taking a medicine to control your blood pressure (a beta-blocker or a calcium channel
• blocker) or an agent to control fluid and electrolyte balance or if you are diabetic and taking insulin, you may need an adjustment in your dosage.
• If you are going to receive lutetium (177Lu) oxodotreotide, a radiopharmaceutical therapy, you may need to stop Octreo 100mg Injection treatment for some time.
