Nizoral 1 % Description

Nizoral shampoo is an anti-dandruff shampoo. It is used to treat dandruff and control flaking, scaling, and itching caused by it. Nizoral shampoo contains ketoconazole, an antifungal medicine clinically proven to control dandruff. Nizoral shampoo works by controlling the growth of fungus, which is the root cause of dandruff, along with addressing the symptoms of dandruff.

Other shampoos with ketoconazole as their active ingredient include Ketomac shampoo, Ketocip shampoo, Nizol shampoo, and Exizol shampoo. Nizoral shampoo should be used only under medical supervision; do not use it as a regular shampoo. Wet the hair and scalp thoroughly before applying the shampoo, and then massage it into the scalp and hair for at least three minutes before rinsing it off with water.

Common side effects of Nizoral shampoo are dryness, irritation, or scalp redness. If these symptoms worsen or persist, get medical help. Pregnant or nursing patients should only use Nizoral shampoo if prescribed by a doctor.

Nizoral shampoo should not be applied to broken or irritated skin; you should always follow your doctor's or chemist's instructions before using it. If you notice any strange symptoms or side effects, stop using the shampoo immediately and call your doctor.

Directions for Use of Nizoral 1 %

Wet the hair and scalp well with water. Apply shampoo and gently massage it over the entire scalp.
Keep it for 5-10 mins before rinsing off. Rinse the hair and scalp with water.
Nizoral shampoo may be irritating to mucous membranes of the eyes and contact with the area must be avoided.
If Nizoral shampoo does get into the eyes, it must be rinse off gently with cold water.

Storage and disposal of Nizoral 1 %

Store the Nizoral shampoo in a closed container .
