Other General Warnings

• Consult your doctor if your scalp condition does not improve, gets worse, or you notice any side effect.
• You have been using a steroid preparation on the scalp for a long time. Reduce it gradually as your doctor advises rather than stopping suddenly, as the condition can flare.
• The scalp is broken, blistered, weeping, or badly inflamed, as the shampoo may sting and may not be suitable.
• You have had an allergic reaction to an antifungal medicine before.
• You are treating a child, as a doctor should confirm the diagnosis first.
• Take care to keep the shampoo out of the eyes. If it gets in, rinse gently with cool water.
• This shampoo treats the scalp condition it is prescribed for. It is not a hair growth treatment, and it will not correct hair loss from other causes.

• Wet your hair and scalp thoroughly. Apply enough shampoo to cover the scalp and massage it in gently.
• Leave on the scalp for a few minutes or as your doctor advises, then rinse your hair and scalp thoroughly.
• Use it as often, and for as long, as your doctor tells you. Do not use it more often or for longer than advised.
• Use only on the scalp. Do not swallow it.
• Avoid contact with the eyes, as the shampoo can irritate them. If it gets into your eyes, rinse them gently with cool water.

• Store the shampoo in its closed container at room temperature, away from heat, moisture and direct light.
• Keep it out of the reach of children.
• Do not use it after the expiry date printed on the pack.
• Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of unused or expired shampoo in accordance with local guidance.

• Leave the shampoo on the scalp for the few minutes your doctor advises before rinsing. Rinsing it off straight away gives the medicine no time to work.
• Use it only as your doctor has prescribed, and not as an everyday cosmetic shampoo.
• Keep it out of the eyes and mouth. If it gets into the eyes, rinse them gently with cool water.
• Wash with lukewarm, not hot, water. Hot watermay irritate or dry the scalp in some people.
• Stop using it and seek medical advice if you get a rash, swelling, or severe irritation.
• Tell your doctor if your scalp doesn't improve after a few weeks of treatment, or if it worsens at any point.
• Dandruff often returns after treatment stops. Your doctor may advise occasional use to keep it under control.
• Maintain good scalp hygiene and avoid sharing personal grooming items when appropriate.

Interactions with other medicines

• Topical corticosteroids: if you have been using a steroid cream, lotion, or ointment on the scalp for a long time, your doctor will usually reduce it gradually while you use this shampoo, because stopping suddenly can make the underlying skin condition flare.
• Other scalp treatments: tell your doctor about any other medicated shampoo, lotion, or oil you use on your scalp so treatments aren't combined in a way that irritates the skin.
• Very little ketoconazole is absorbed through the skin when this shampoo is used as directed, so interactions with medicines taken by mouth are unlikely. Tell your doctor about all medicines, supplements, and herbal products you take.
