Uses of Nasopil Paed 0.5 %
For quick relief of nasal congestion due to infections and allergies.
Contraindications of Nasopil Paed 0.5 %
- If your child is allergic to xylometazoline, other decongestants or any other ingredients of Nasopil Paed Nasal Drop
- If your child has glaucoma
- If your child has any nose problems
- If your child recently had a brain or nose surgery
- If your child has heart problems and is taking medicines to treat them (beta-blockers)
- If your child has diabetes, glaucoma or an overactive thyroid gland
- If your child has an enlarged prostate gland (in boys)
- If your child is suffering from a rare tumour called phaeochromocytoma
- If your child is taking (or has stopped taking it in the last 2 weeks) certain medicines to treat your psychiatric illness (MAOIs)
- This medicine should not be used in children below 6 years of age

Other General Warnings
Talk to your doctor if
- Your child has heart problems
- Your child has any existing medical conditions, or he/she is born prematurely.
- Your child experiences sleep disturbances, hallucinations or restlessness
- You do not notice any improvement in your child's condition
- Do not use this medicine for a longer duration than that recommended by the doctor.
Mode of Action of Nasopil Paed 0.5 %
How Does It Work?
Xylometazoline works by reducing the nasal secretions and constricting or narrowing the blood vessels in the nasal region thereby relieving the congestion.
Directions for Use of Nasopil Paed 0.5 %
- Use Nasopil Paed Nasal Drop as instructed by your doctor
- Follow all the directions carefully and do not miss any doses.
- Read the instructions on the label before usage.
- Shake the bottle well before use
- Clean your child’s nose before use of this medicine
- Use the exact number of drops recommended.
- Hold the bottle upright and insert the nozzle into the nostril and close the other nostril. Keep your child’s head in the upright position
- Do not let your child blow their nose for a few minutes after administering the drops

Interactions with other medicines
- Some medicines can affect the way Nasopil Paed Nasal Drop works, or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
- Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements, or herbals your child is currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction. Also, you should inform your doctor if your child has a planned surgery or vaccination scheduled....
- Especially if your child is taking medicines to treat heart problems, psychiatric illnesses or is taking appetite suppressants, oxytocin, ergot alkaloids and moclobemide.
Storage and disposal of Nasopil Paed 0.5 %
- Store Nasopil Paed Nasal Drop at room temperature.
- Keep it out of reach of children and pets
Dosage of Nasopil Paed 0.5 %
Overdose
- Symptoms of overdose may include irritation and itching in the nasal area and reappearance of the congestion of the nasal airway region.
- If you have given too much of Nasopil Paed Nasal Drop to your child, then contact your doctor or reach out to the nearest hospital immediately.
Missed a Dose
If you have missed giving any dose of Nasopil Paed Nasal Drop to your child, then give it as soon as you remember. If it's already time for the next dose, then skip the missed dose and follow the regular dosing schedule....
